A Darby man accused of threatening to kill President Barack Obama and his family was arrested by the U.S. Secret Service.
Dan Rachell, 43, a Valley Veterans Service employee, was arrested late last week.
A 13-page complaint shows the Secret Service began its investigation on March 24, after a veteran reported Rachell's alleged threats. The complaint shows the unnamed veteran reported the threats, because he believed Rachell was suffering post traumatic stress disorder.
The complaint showed Rachell said he had various spots set up around Hamilton where he could ambush the president should he visit Hamilton. The complaint said Rachell said he had enough weapons to "kill everyone in Hamilton." Documents say Rachell also said someone should "kill Michelle and the kids to save taxpayers money."
Rachell resigned from his position at Valley Veterans Service Center after a number of employees complained about his abusive behavior.
The complaint shows that the government requested a warrant based on an investigation into the threats Rachell made, his access to weapons, and the details of his attack plan.
He faces two federal charges of making threats against President Barack Obama and his family.
