Senators Tester and Walsh Push Military Mental Health Bill

Posted: Updated:

Senators Walsh and Tester are introducing a new bill in Washington D.C., if passed, it will require military panels that review discharges to have one mental health professional on their board.

Approximately one million military service members were diagnosed with a mental health condition between 2001 and 2011.

Many of which were discharged from the military without proper access to services and doctors.

With this bill in place, the senators hope those with previous conditions will be allowed an "honorable" discharge, so they can get the care they need.
