Senior Standout: Josie Stinson

Josie Stinson is a champion. During her career at Belt high school she filled has her trophy case, which includes a golf state championship from last year.

"She won the state individual competition and has worked real hard at it. I golfed with her a lot the last couple of summers and she's pretty natural. She's pretty easy to coach - she picks up on things pretty quick, and she's smart," said Karl Koontz, head golf coach.

Josie also played volleyball and is a 3-time state champion in basketball and says that her experience at Belt has been special.

"It's been amazing with all the opportunities I've gotten. With 3 state championships in basketball, second place in volleyball - the first we've ever gotten in our state history and with golf just bringing this sport up in our school. It's just been amazing. I've been really lucky with all the coaching I've gotten," said Stinson.

Josie is also a champion in school and in the community.

"In a little school like ours and you're a teacher there you end up leaning on the kids quite a bit to help you with the mechanics of the day and she's always very helpful with that sort of stuff," saint Koontz.

After Josie graduates this summer, she will move on to college at Montana Tech where she will play golf for the Orediggers.

"I want to be a civil engineer so I thought Tech would be the best school for that and I love golf so we contacted the golf coach and I'm going to play golf for them too," said Stinson.

Josie will leave Belt with plenty of championships on her resume and on her mantle but it isn't filled yet as she will look to add to it as she moves on in life.
