Padilla Charged in Saturday Chase

GREAT FALLS -

A run in with police turns violent on Saturday night, sending an officer and the suspect to the hospital. Now, the suspect is out and is facing multiple charges.

Victor Padilla is facing two felony charges and two misdemeanors including felony assault on a police officer after he struck an officer according to the police affidavit.

A short foot chase ensued before Padilla was finally apprehended.  The officer was forced to use a taser on Padilla, who sustained injuries from hitting the sidewalk head first resulting in losing teeth and bleeding from the mouth. 

The officer was treated for a cut on her nose and released from the hospital.  Padilla also faces a felony possession of a dangerous drug after a bag of methamphetamine was found while retracing his path.

According to police, he is expected to appear in court tomorrow.
