WALLA WALLA, WA - After years of waiting, staff at the Walla Walla VA cut the ribbon on their much needed outpatient clinic Tuesday afternoon.

The new facility will provide all kinds of services including gender specific care for women veterans, physical therapy, outpatient surgery,
it even has a sleep lab.

Back in 2009, Senator Patty Murray helped get a law passed providing over $71
million in federal funding for the new clinic.

"When a community comes together and fights a fight for the people that fight for us, for our veterans, they're going to win. If you listen to what people tell you, and they tell you you can't win, and you sit back and do nothing you do lose out. When you stand up and fight back for something that's right, you can win," Murray said.

Up to 70,000 veterans in Southeastern Washington, and parts of Oregon and Idaho will have access to the
new
clinic.
