MOSCOW, Idaho—The University of Idaho women’s basketball program signed one player to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday head coach Jon Newlee announced.

Tayla Corrigan (Adelaide, Australia/Mineral Area College) will join the Vandals for the 2014-15 season. She will have two years of eligibility.

“Tayla is a great sign for us,” Newlee stated. “She is extremely long and runs the floor very well. She has excellent range on her jump shot and good offensive skills down on the block. Tayla is going to be a defensive presence for us as well. She will be able to use her length to alter and block shots in the paint. I cannot wait to coach Tayla and have her join our Vandal family.”

Corrigan, a 6’4’’ post player, averaged 8.1 points and 6.1 rebounds in 21.8 minutes per game for Mineral Area College (Mo.). She helped lead the Cardinals to a 17-12 record this past season. Corrigan scored a season-high 22 points, shooting 11-of-15 from the field against Southeastern Illinois College. She recorded two double-doubles last season and scored double figure points in nine games.

Corrigan’s addition makes a total of four new signees for the 2014-15 season. She will join Renae Mokrzycki, Bethany Krause and Geraldine McCorkell in the fall.
