Montana's Severe Weather Awareness Week

Monday marks the beginning of Montana's Severe Weather Awareness Week.

Tom Frieders with the National Weather Service says it is important because thunderstorms in Montana can crop up at anytime, leading to even more severe weather.

"Many times thunderstorms can even produce winds in excess of 80 to 90 miles an hour and can produce some significant damage."

On Wednesday, Yellowstone County will test its emergency sirens at 6 pm.
