MEAD, Wash. - Firefighters in District #4 responded to a structure fire in the 15000 block of N. Richmond Lane in Mead on Monday night.

When firefighters arrived, they found a garage fully engulfed in flames and immediately began their attack. The flames spread from the detached garage to two homes. Firefighters were able to knock the fire down quickly, but it did destroy the garage and a home. The other home received minor damage.

We are told everyone made it safely out of the homes.

The owner of the garage and home that were destroyed told firefighters he was in the garage working on a car when the fire started.

The official cause is still under investigation.

A reporter for The Inlander happened to be at the YMCA when the bike was stolen.
