Tinkle Talks Latest Griz Recruits

Posted: Updated:

Last week, The Montana Grizzlies basketball team added two players to their recruiting class…making it three total for this year.  One of which, Jermaine Edmonds Jr is a Juco Transfer…who played high school with current Griz Point guard Mario Dunn

“He’s a guy we kept our eyes on.  He was deemed a late qualifier at his JC, so it’s a unique situation where we’ll have him for three years.  He’s an athletic wing who can play multiple positions at 6’4, 6’5, can drive it, is a very good passer.  His familiarity with Mario and what we’ve done up here will help with the transiton as well,”

Trying to bolster their front-court…the Griz also signed Fabijan Krslovic, a 6-8 post, who along with previous commit Bryden Boehning could compete for playing time s true Freshman.

“He, and Fabjian can come in with that toughness, there is always room for that out on the floor.  So hopefully with the work they put in this summer, we’ll have everyone here for summer school, and everyone will be ahead of the game coming into August and September,”

Earlier in the off-season, coach Tinkle’s name was mentioned in connection with the then open Washington State coaching job.  It’s not the first time he’s been a rumored candidate for a job, which he says is always an interesting thing to hear rumors about himself.

“It’s goofy when your name is being brought up, and you haven’t talked to anybody.  It does start the rumor mill, but my players know if anything is going on, I’m always going to be up front and let them know, and they understand that.  We’ve had a lot of success here, and at some point there may be a time, but we’re awfully excited about where we’re at, and we’re excited to bounce back and build off what we’ve done and bounce back from this past season.  The future is bright here, and I’m a glad to be a part of it still,”

The city commission passed Great Falls annual city budget tonight, but there was a lot of discussion on what the future holds. Most of the discussion today about the city’s 117.9 million dollar budget fell upon the natatorium, as it will now officially be closing in January of 2019.
