Dr. Clem Pellett has traveled around the country telling the story of how he was able to get justice for his grandfather, who was murdered by a hitch hiker in Montana, but Tuesday night was the first time Pellett had ever shared his story with a Montana audience.

"I want to thank you all for something that is near and dear to my heart. That is Montana," said Pellett to the audience at his lecture.

Pellett said during the search for his grandfather's killer he was able to find something more important.

"I got a call at my office, and when I answered the phone the woman on the other side told me she was my cousin, Dorothy. She said we had never met before and that needed to change," said Pellett of getting a call from his lost extended family after his story gained national media attention.

Pellett changed his life by reconnected with the family he never knew he had, and that family is equal as happy to have reconnected with him.

"It means a lot to me. I remember talking to him when he said he and his wife were coming to Shelby. I told them I would plan a dinner or something. When he got to Shelby there had to be a least a dozen first cousins waiting to him. It was special," said Dorothy Lescantz, one of Pellett's cousins.

Pellett says he hopes Montanan's are able to find the most important message in his story which is the power of family.
