When you think of protests, you think of picket signs, sandwich boards, and an overall negative vibe. But today a different kind of protest was held.
Jacquie Burchard of Kids Education Yes said, "we had some rallies this morning, and a positive protest."
The Positive Protest is being supported by Kids Education Yes, and the program was done to get a yes vote as Burchard is wanting to "promote a yes vote on the school levy the district is asking voters to approve $1.6M in general budgets."
And people braved the weather to support the cause.
Volunteer Kim Skornogoski said "i think it's important to get out even if it's raining and show people that there is a lot of support for the schools and the school levy and that it's worth investing in education."
The protestors were also targeting a certain audience that they feel their support will make a difference.
And in a positive manner of course, they want people to know, the vote is coming.
