"The First Mayor's Prayer Breakfast in the United States was in Montana. The First Governor's Prayer Breakfast in the U.S., was in Montana. So anyway, we have been doing the Mayor's Breakfast for the last twenty years," said Breakfast Chairman John Swanson.
And that tradition will continue this Saturday in Great Falls.
Swanson said of the tradition that "they normally do the Governor's Breakfast in Helena while the Legislature is in session, and if the Governor can make it, it's the Governor's Breakfast."
The 54th Montana Prayer Breakfast is this Saturday at the Heritage Inn, and one state representative is expected to be there. As Swanson said "our state representative is Tim Fox the Attorney General who will be the Montana Representative on behalf of the state."
The Keynote Speaker is a highly touted one in Ed Martin and preparations have been going on for months.
Cascade County Clerk and Recorder Rina Moore said of the planning that "I'm so appreciative to be a part of it. We have spent many months now planning, and it's all finally coming together on Friday evening with the dinner. Then Saturday morning most importantly is the breakfast."
