LAUREL - An 18-year-old girl leads police on a chase near Laurel early Thursday morning along Highway 212. Laurel Police received a call around 4:25, reporting a red car hit a gas pump at Town Pump in Laurel.

Police saw the car swerving all over the road at a high speed. The car lost control and rolled a few times with 18-year-old driver partially going through the driver's window. Police say she was not wearing a seat belt.

Laurel Police interviewed a 15-year-old girl who picked up the 18-year-old from Vegas Motel because she had been drinking. Police report the 15-year-old stopped at the Town Pump to ask for directions when they started arguing. The 18-year-old then got into the driver's seat and drove off, hitting the other teen and a gas pump.

The 15-year-old has non-life threatening injuries and the driver is in stable condition. Police say speed and alcohol were factors and no charges have been filed at this time.
