A Helena man is injured after an unusual car accident Sunday morning and is facing charges as well.
It was shortly after 11am that twenty-seven year old Thaddeus Deshner was reportedly driving on Poplar Street in Helena. According to authorities, Deshner had several warrants out for his arrest when he saw a Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's car. Shortly after he drove away and eventually drove through a fence and jumped the southbound ramp on Interstate 15.
He eventually landed in the northbound lane. Montana Highway Patrol says he was conscious at the time they came to the scene.
State Attorney General Tim Fox, who provided the photo through Twitter, says that he stopped to help direct traffic, and that the suspect is lucky to still be alive and that he flew 100 feet out onto the interstate.
Deshner is facing charges of kidnapping, assault, probation violation, DUI, criminal endangerment, and a seat belt violation. We will have more information as soon as it develops.
