A fatal car accident takes the life of a fifty seven year old male last night in Broadwater County.

Broadwater County Sheriff Brenda Ludwig revealed that David Rapstad of Helena was the victim of the fatal rollover.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol it was shortly before 9:30 last night that Rapstad’s BMW went off the right side of US Highway 12 and Mile Marker 57.  Rapstad reportedly overcorrected while steering and went counter-clockwise before rolling over and ejecting him.

Rapstad was pronounced dead at the scene, and was not wearing a seatbelt.   It is unknown if alcohol and speed were a factor.
