Missoula Shooter's History With Burglaries

MISSOULA -

Attorneys for Marcus Kaarma said his home was robbed two times before the shooting death of a Big Sky High School German exchange student, but Missoula police said only one report was filed for a burglary at the home.

They said a police report of a garage burglary at the Kaarma's home was filed on April 18. Police said according to the report, only small items were stolen out of the garage, but they could not name what was taken. On April 21, police said a suspicious car was reported pulling a way from the home.

In an interview Monday Kaarma's attorney, Paul Ryan, said the family was confused after the first burglary, and didn't report it. Ryan said whoever was entering the home was getting bolder, and stealing credit cards, phones and more.

Police are still investigating the April 18 burglary. They said garage burglaries are not uncommon in Missoula.
