GREAT FALLS -

The March of Dimes foundation is making girls dreams come true today turning Cascade County girls into princesses for a day. The March of Dimes turned the Columbus Center Chapel into quite the palace today as they welcomed in their largest number to date.

"Today we are transforming 200 girls into princesses for the afternoon," says Beth Schmidt.

This is one of the March of Dimes largest events here in the electric city that brings in over 100 volunteers to help make these girls days very special.

"We find a way each year to give back. this is our second year doing fundraising for the Princess for a Day event. which is also a great way to bring the community together, we have 100 businesses and 60 volunteers in the castle transforming girls into princesses," says Schmidt.

3rd grader Hannah Purves was one of the girls taking on the transformation, for her, participating in the fundraiser is not only fun but is also a personal thank you to the March of Dimes for supporting her.

"I was 8 weeks early and I've been doing march of dimes for the last 6 years," says Purves.

With the help of some fairy god stylist, they made Hannah ready to meet her prince and feel just like a real princess.

"I get to do my hair and they get to put make up on and paint my nails and take a picture with the prince over there," says Purves.

And with the transformation now complete, Hannah says the whole process is a lot of fun.

"it's fun because they get to curl and they get to like put all sorts of curls in and it's fun," adds Purves.

The March of Dimes is grateful to the Columbus Center for without the new venue they could not accommodate as many princesses in one day.

"Last year we had a different venue and we were limited with space constraints to 100 girls and we felt horrible that we were turning girls away, because everybody truly deserves to be a princess for a day," says Schmidt.

The March of Dimes hold the princess for a day fundraiser on a Sunday to better accommodate the schedules of the over 60 local stylist attending.
