The Great Falls Food Bank is partnering with the US Postal Service to collect non perishable food items this weekend. Last year they reached nearly 17,000 pounds of food and this year they are looking to reach their goal of 18,000 of food to be distributed throughout Cascade county.
"The only way to donate is to leave the food out on your doorstep the earlier the better. We are asking the public to get it out by 8:30 so our carriers can get it to the end of the street or the end of the block, so our volunteers can pick it up," says Shaun Tatarka the Fund Development Coordinator for the Food Bank "Again we cant stress enough to please put it out as early as possible"
The food bank still needs volunteers so anyone who would like to do so is instructed to meet at the back of the down town post office at 8:45 Saturday morning.
