While it may not seem like it, fire season is almost here, and the Black Eagle Fire Department is proposing a new range of fees for fire protection services.
Officials are proposing a twelve tier system that would begin at $100 a year and then go up from there.
A public hearing has been scheduled for Thursday on the changes.
Fees would be determined by home value with the lowest rate being applied to homes valued at $50,000 or less. The fee would be increased to $150 for properties between $50,000-$100,000.
The top-tier fee would be $9,000 and apply to major facilities, which would include dams.
