Malmstrom 40th Breaks Record

GREAT FALLS - Malmstrom Air Force Base's 40th Helicopter Squadron reaching a record tonight.

The 40th Helicopter Squadron has reached the milestone tonight after saving a hiker who fell while trekking in Hamilton. This was their 400th save, and as soon as they returned from transporting the victim to a hospital in Missoula.  They received a new call to respond to to go air lift a hiker caught in an avalanche.

The 40th gets called out on missions when Mercy Flight can not land. Malmstrom's helicopters are equipped with both cameras to search for people and with a hoist. After they finish this next mission they will break their recently broken record setting it now at 401 people saved total.
