Aaron Doney Makes Initial Appearance

Posted: Updated:
GREAT FALLS - A Great Falls man appears in court Wednesday, a few days after turning himself in for a robbery he allegedly committed back in November.

Aaron Doney made his initial appearance in court today, and faces felony charges of robbery and assault with a weapon.
According to court documents, the robbery happened back on Friday November 15th. Police say Doney went into the Sinclair on 59th Street South, and reportedly pointed a gun at an employee and demanded money before firing a shot. The employee said he thought he was 'going to die,' and took cover before calling 911. Surveillance footage showed that a shot was indeed fired.
Great Falls Detectives identified Doney as the suspect and located him in connection to another investigation.

On Monday, Doney called 911 and admitted to the Sinclair robbery, and turned himself in for an interview where he gave details that only the person who committed the robbery would know.
Bail was set at $50,000.
