GREAT FALLS - The local Girl Scouts of America are lifting spirits and helping the health of cancer patients here in Great Falls.

"Great Falls Girl Scout troops are coming in today to donate over 120 boxes of thin mints cookies for our patients. this is just a real treat for all of us and it's a great experience for them to know philanthropy and make donations and of course we get the benefit and our cancer patients get to enjoy some cookies," explains Chief Administrator Officer, Joe LoDuca.

Other than being a very good way to give back to the community the thin mint cookies have a sort of healing property for cancer patients.

"It helps the cancer patients when they get nausea and stuff like the mint helps them," explains Erin Hocker.

For the scouts they say they get much more out of the experience than meets the eye.

"It brings a really good feeling, like you feel really good about yourself, proud of your self knowing that you are giving to other people,"  says Hocker.

And for the Benefis Sletten Cancer Institute they get cookies and the knowledge that Girl Scouts are supporting their very important fight.

"And we are just so appreciative of the girl scouts for thinking of the Benefis Sletten Institute patients and bringing this donation forward again this year and we are very appreciative and look forward to getting theses cookies to our patients," says LoDuca.
