North Middle School Teams up With Walleye Unlimited

Posted: Updated:
GREAT FALLS -

Usually in school kids are fishing for answers well today in North Middle school theses kids are actually making the fishing poles.

"Absolutely it's kids helping kids and you know walleyes unlimited is all about kids and throughout central Montana and this is just one little example of what can happen when everybody pulls together and makes things happen," explains John Schilling with Walleye Unlimited.

Kids at north middle school are helping out the walleye unlimited fishing group by putting together over 800 fishing poles which will go to kids in the community to use. Travis Nesby is a local fisherman and is using his knowledge to help other students put together their rods.

"I've kind of thought about being a professional fisherman, because I go to tournaments annually down in Texas. so it's kind of natural for me to know how to tie a fishing rod," explains Nesby.

Nesby feels happy that his work is going to help many kids in Great Falls learn how to fish for the first time.

"Well i feel like it's a great opportunity and that a lot of people to do it, because it helps a lot," says Nesby.

In fact this weekend is the Walleye Unlimited Kids Fishing Derby at Wadsworth Park will be kicking off this Saturday.
