This weekend was the Emmy awards and while KHQ was nominated in several categories, there was one category we were especially proud of.

Our own Dan Kleckner was honored with the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' Silver Circle Award.

The Silver Circle is an elite group of professionals recognized for making a significant contribution to television for the last 25 years or more.

Dan got his start at KHQ in 1985 and now he's one of the best known, most respected newsmen in our area and even more than that, he's our good friend. Congratulations Dan! You deserve it!

Here is what Dan had to say about the award on his Facebook page at the event he attended with his beautiful wife:

"Thank you National Academy Of Television Arts and Sciences for the Silver Circle Award for 25 years of Broadcast Excellence. Even better, 32 years with my beautiful Bride at my side!"
