On Saturday morning in Helena over 50 mountain bikers competed in the Helenduro biking race.
Stage one included contestants going all the way to the top of Mount Helena to take the rocky trails down. Some fell victim to the rocky terrain but most of the riders were able to keep their cool and maneuver the twists and turns.
There were three stages in total for today's race, but with this being the first of four races in the Montana Enduro Series bikers know that this is just a small sample for them to try and win the entire series.
"I think mainly it's just getting through the day," said Helenduro competitor Peter Marvin of Bozeman. "I primarily ride a road bike so the mountain is kind of a new thing for me so getting through, having a good time with buddies.
"The goal is to stay on my bike," joked Helenduro competitor Mike Grimland, also of Bozeman. "Have a good time, that's what mountain biking is about. I'd like to win but there's a lot of fast guys out here on their home trails so we'll see what happens."
