Time Square Building Re-Opened

Posted: Updated:
GREAT FALLS - The Time Square building is on it's way to once again being filled with local businesses after today's re-opening ceremony.

"As I said before, Times Square will become alive. It's a beautiful building, it actually is. It's an old style front and glass elevators, but it's unique and we're gonna bring it alive again," explains Farmers Union President, Allan Merrill.

According to the Chamber of Commerce the re-doing of the Time Square building will bring even more reason for people to visit our downtown area.

"Well I think Time Square is a perfect example of what could be done in the community, in particularly downtown in helping to revitalize downtown," says Chamber of Commerce CEO, Steve Malicott.

The 3rd floor used to hold a New York themed restaurant, now my neighbor in need has big plans for the whole community to use the large space.

"So as part of the grand opening of the new Time Square, we have revamped what used to be a restaurant. and now on the 3rd floor we have the first ever, fully licensed commercial kitchen. It is community based and what I mean by that is, if you are a food vendor and you need a licensed kitchen to do your product, where do you go? You pay high rent to rent a restaurant or you do it illegally at home, well now we have something that meets the best of both worlds," says Dave Snuggs.

And folks are encouraged to get a hold of Dave Snuggs if they have an idea of what business they would like to start.

ENTIAT, Wash. - A burn out operation is planned for Tuesday morning in an effort to establish a secure line in the bottom of the canyon where the Mills Canyon Fire is burning. Burning material rolling downhill and igniting spot fires on the north side of Swakane Canyon have caused concerns and indicate a vulnerability to a fire escape and repeatedly expose firefighters to very steep terrain and rolling material.
