Captain Newton Graduates FBI National Academy

The Great Falls Police Department is pleased to announce the graduation of Captain Jeff Newton from the 255th session of the FBI National Academy. The graduation ceremony was held today in Washington D.C.

Captain Newton participated in a 10 week session that includes undergraduate and/or graduate college courses at the Quantico, Virginia, campus in the following areas: law, behavioral science, forensic science, understanding terrorism/terrorist mindsets, leadership development, communication, and health/fitness. Officers participate in a wide range of leadership and specialized training, and they share ideas, techniques, and experiences with each other, creating lifelong partnerships that span state and national lines.
    
Captain Newton has over 19 years of combined law enforcement experience. Beginning in 1993, he worked for the Kalispell Police Department, and in 1997 he went to work for the King County Sheriff's Office in Seattle before coming to Great Falls in 1999.

    ATHOL, Idaho - After a thorough investigation into the fire that closed a portion of Silverwood Theme Park last weekend, investigators with the Timberlake Fire Protection District say it was most likely an improperly discarded cigarette that started the fire.
    ATHOL, Idaho - After a thorough investigation into the fire that closed a portion of Silverwood Theme Park last weekend, investigators with the Timberlake Fire Protection District say it was most likely an improperly discarded cigarette that started the fire. The fire happened on August 24th, around 2:00pm in a restroom at the Boulder Beach Water park. The water park was evacuated while crews worked to put the flames out.
