Helena Bighorns New Coach Allegedly Sued by Former Team

HELENA -
Helena Bighorn coaches are back in the headlines again. We at KFBB learned Wednesday that newly named Bighorns coach Jon Jonasson is allegedly being sued by his former team the Butte Cobras and their owner Michael Burks on tampering charges. Jonasson was hired by the Cobras in May as the Gm/head coach but then resigned shortly after when he accepted the Helena position.

"To be honest I'm just kind of moving forward and trying to build the team for Helena and I'm not too worried about it," said Jonasson. "I think I had a great relationship with Michael Burks and going forward I'm just not going to stress about it because I don't think it pertains to the Helena team."

We tried reaching out to the Bighorns front office and the Cobras lawyer, who is based in Helena, both declined to issue a statement at this time. We'll keep you up to date with the latest as we learn more.
