3rd Annual Ace Cop Combat Challenge

GREAT FALLS -

Malmstrom Air Force Base hosted the 3rd annual Ace Cop Challenge a competition for our military security forces to participate in.

"We have a competition it's called the Ace Cop Combat Challenge. There is 25 stations and 20 teams that come out all from the security forces group on base," explains Tech. Sergeant Anthony Richards.

The field at Malmstrom was filled with events designed to test the military security force both physically and mentally.

"3rd annual competition that they had their more than welcome to do it. It's a long long day we do recommend that they train and prepare because we do 25 stations 15 minutes for each station with 5 minutes in between each to get from one to the other," says Richards.

There are a lot of tough challenges for these members of the security forces to compete in but none more challenging than the event called "team pain".

"Team Pain, the name speaks for itself. You got 4 guys in a square working together, trying to get on the same rhythm pushing your body weight off another person. So you got to complete 4 push ups, run to a giant tire, I'm not sure how much it weighs. It's heavier this year than last years," explains Staff Sergeant Bernard Ayon.

Besides a trophy the chance to say "we are the best" drives these men and women to put forth their best.

"It's pretty much bragging rights for us, saying we're the most physical, most knowledgeable with all the stuff we have to learn in the security forces. So it's a Bragging rite thing and a big moral booster," adds E-4 Senior Airman, Nick Blossom.

The Air National Guard team was also competing in the challenge.
