Fatal Car Accident Near Scobey Takes Life of One

GREAT FALLS - A fatal car accident took place early this morning in Daniels County taking the life of a female.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the accident took place at midnight on Secondary Highway 248 and Mile Marker 39 near Scobey.

MHP says that the truck was traveling eastbound when it crossed over into the other lane and then ventured off the road. A trailer was detached from the truck and rolled, and the truck eventually recovered before going back off the road and rolling over and landing on it's roof.  

The driver, a forty-five year old male, was injured in the accident, and a forty-one year old woman from Conrad died in the accident. She was pronounced dead at the scene, no identity has been released yet.  

Alcohol was determined to be a factor, but it is still unknown if speed was. We will update you as soon as more information becomes available.

The water park was evacuated while crews worked to put the flames out.
