GREAT FALLS, Mont. (June 30, 2014) -The Great Falls Voyagers ended their homestand with their fourth straight loss Monday night, as the Missoula Osprey completed a sweep of their four-game series with a 3-2 victory at Centene Stadium.

Pitching was the dominant story on both sides, especially early on. Missoula (8-7) starter Tyler Bolton (2-0) kept the Voyagers off the board until the sixth inning when Zach Fisher took the righty deep for his first homer of the year. It was a rare mistake on a night when Bolton didn't make many, giving up just the one run on three hits in six innings.

On the Great Falls (8-7) side of things, starter Brandon Brennan also turned in a good outing. The righty allowed just one run in five innings and it came in his final frame of work. Maik Ehmcke tripled with two outs down the line in right, and then came around to score one batter later when Brennan uncorked a wild pitch to give the Osprey a 1-0 lead.

The only other runs Missoula scored came in the sixth. Kevin Cron drove in a run with a single, then came around to score after Voyager reliever Mike Blanke unleashed three wild pitches to push the Osprey advantage to two.

The three runs was all Missoula needed on the night as Kevin Simmons picked up where Bolton left off. The right-hander allowed a solo homer to Dillon Haupt in the ninth to allow Great Falls to within a run, but the rally fell short and Simmons closed the door to earn his first save.

Having come home on a four-game winning streak, the Voyagers have now dropped four straight, and with this loss have now been swept for the first time in 2014.

The Voyagers now hit the road for a pair of games in Helena against the Brewers, starting Tuesday night at Kindrick Field. Great Falls will send right-hander Zach Thompson (0-0, 0.00) to the hill while the Brewers will turn to a righty of their own, J.B. Kole (0-0, 0.00). First pitch is set for 7:05 and coverage will begin at 6:50 on 1400 AM KXGF and gfvoyagers.com.

The Voyagers return to Centene Stadium on Thursday for a quick two-game series with the Helena Brewers. For tickets to any Voyagers home game this season, call (406) 452-5311 or visit gfvoyagers.com.
