Summer construction will go on as planned

Posted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. -

The Washington State Department of Transportation says they will finish the construction projects that they started this summer, despite restrictions in federal funding. They tell KHQ that drivers can expect up to twenty minute delays in the city of Spokane, and possibly longer on I-90.

Within city limits, construction will take place in the evenings and nights, but outside of the city roadwork could be during the day. Construction workers say that they are provided with bottled water, ice, and sunscreen to stay safe while they are working outside in the sun.
