#SafeAndSound: Pool Safety

Posted: Updated:
GREAT FALLS -

When summer temperatures sizzle many children love playing in the water. They may even dart for a pool and before you even notice it could be too late…

A drowning can happen in seconds, kids can slip right under the water without anyone noticing that’s why pool manager Bob Stingley at Great Falls High recommends getting your children swim lessons as soon as possible.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, drowning is the leading cause of deaths among children ages 1 to 4. Rachel Bohannon said this statistic is no joke so she’s taken all four of her kids to swimming lessons at Great Falls High.

To keep water fun safe Stingley said kids should be supervised and know their skill level. However, no matter how comfortable they feel they should always swim where a lifeguard is nearby and parents need to stay vigilant.

To register for the next swim session at Great Falls High School Pool call Bob Stingley at 406-268-6281.
