Posted: Updated:

Malmstrom Air Force Base has released information regarding punishments from the cheating scandal that rocked the base. Malmstrom is moving in the right direction. To help them move on from the negativity of the cheating and drug scandal the base has made public their actions to correct the issue.

"Moral is increasing and things are going well. But the most important piece is 24/7 365 days of the year, were providing the nations nuclear deterrent," says Col. Wilcox.

A total of 70 officers received administrative action such as letters of reprimand, admonishment or counseling.

14 officers at Malmstrom have received non-judicial punishments in accordance with the rules outlined out in the uniform code of military justice article 15 which is a disciplinary measure less severe than a trial by court martial.

Out of the 70, 5 of those missileers officers who have received the letters have been p.c.s meaning permanent change of stations prior to the investigation, But moving on the new Commander of Malmstrom Air Force Base Colonel Tom Wilcox says they have handled the situation and are ready to turn the base around.

"And the support for the wing is absolutely phenomenal. As we rove down the block, 1st avenue south there, Central Avenue folks were clapping the entire way. Saying thanks for what you do. My big message for the community is saying thanks for what you do. Thanks for the continued support, You guys know that the wing does great things. And we are here, and we have been the silent sentinels since October 1962. We take care of this mission, we take it seriously and we do ensue that it is preformed safely and securely,"explains Col. Wilcox.
