GREAT FALLS, Mont. (July 14, 2014) -A day after they were shutout, the Great Falls Voyagers bounced back and wrapped up their seven-game homestand with a 7-3 win over the Idaho Falls Chukars Monday night at Centene Stadium.

The Voyagers (17-11) scored plenty of runs early, tallying runs in each of the first two innings against Idaho Falls starter Austin Fairchild (0-1) and reliever Javier Reynoso. In the first, Zach Fisher drove in the run with a two-out triple, and in the second it was a double play grounder with the bases loaded that scored Dillon Haupt.

Great Falls then tacked on two more in the fourth as Chevy Clarke brought in a pair with a two-run single to give the outfielder a team-high 17 runs batted in on the season.

Idaho Falls (15-13) scored their first and only run against Voyager starter Matt Ball (2-1) in the fifth. On a double steal, Brandon Thomasson came home as Great Falls attempted to throw out DonAndre Clark at second.

Ball worked five innings for the fourth time in six starts for the Voyagers, allowing just the one run on four hits. The righty also set a new career-high, striking out six Chukars on the evening.

After Ethan Gross scored on a wild pitch in the fifth, the shortstop came up big in the seventh, delivering another two-out two-run single for the Voyagers to push their advantage to six.

The Chukars pulled two back in the seventh, but never threatened the Great Falls advantage as Jon Bengard came in for the final two frames and struck out four, including striking out the side in the ninth to seal the series win and a 5-2 homestand for the Voyagers.

After an off day on Tuesday, the Voyagers will begin a seven-game road trip Wednesday night in Ogden against the Raptors. In the series opener, Great Falls will send righty Dane Stone (2-0 1.53) to the mound, while the Raptors will turn to fellow right-hander Bernardo Reyes (0-4, 6.38). First pitch is set for 7:00 and coverage will begin at 6:45 on 1400 AM KXGF and gfvoyagers.com.

GREAT FALLS- Protesters gathered on the sidewalks of downtown Great Falls this afternoon to express frustration on how Sen. Jon Tester is handling veteran issues. They believe Sen. Tester isn't living up to what he said he'd do to help veterans. The duo held up signs saying "Tester hasn't kept his promises to vets". They told us some more protesters had stopped by throughout the hours of 11:00 and 1:00 this afternoon. "I've seen so many veterans come by here and say y...
