OGDEN, Utah (July 16, 2014) -The Great Falls Voyagers began their seven-game road trip with their third shutout of the season Wednesday night, blanking the Ogden Raptors 9-0 at Lindquist Field.

Great Falls starter Dane Stone (3-0) was the story for the Voyagers (18-11) on the night, dominating Ogden (10-19) for the second consecutive start. The reigning Pioneer League Pitcher of the Week tossed a career-high eight scoreless innings, allowing just three hits while striking out six.

The righty has now strung together four straight quality starts for Great Falls, and lowered his Pioneer League-leading ERA to 1.21 with Wednesday's effort. Stone has also now allowed just five hits in 14 scoreless innings in two starts against the Raptors this season.

The Voyagers scored the contest's first run in the fourth against Ogden starter Bernardo Reyes (0-5). With two outs, Zach Fisher got things going with a double to left field, then moved over to third on a passed ball. After a John Ziznewski walk extended the frame, Zach Stoner drove Fisher in with an RBI single to make it 1-0.

Great Falls then tacked on another in the fifth as Chevy Clarke took Reyes deep for his team-leading fifth homer of the year. The outfielder also leads the Voyagers in RBIs in 2014, with 18.

In the seventh and eighth innings, the Voyagers tacked on four more as the Raptors defense let them down. Mason Robbins scored on one of those errors in the seventh, then came up again in the eighth after a couple Ogden errors and brought two home with a single.

Great Falls put the exclamation point on the contest in the ninth as Fisher drove a three-run homer to the opposite field for his second homer of the year to make it a 9-0 ballgame.

Mike Blanke then came on in the ninth for the Voyagers and struck out a pair of Raptors while wrapping up the Voyagers third shutout of the season and second in less than a week against Ogden.

The Voyagers and Raptors continue this series Thursday night at Lindquist Field. Great Falls will send lefty Brian Clark (2-0 1.38) to the mound, while the Raptors will turn to right-hander Jeff Brigham (0-1, 1.80). First pitch is set for 7:00 and coverage will begin at 6:45 on 1400 AM KXGF and gfvoyagers.com.
