GREAT FALLS, Mont. (August 9, 2014) - The Great Falls Voyagers were held to a season-low three hits Saturday night, as they were shutout for the second time this season by the Grand Junction Rockies, 2-0 at Centene Stadium.

Voyager starter Luis Martinez (1-1) retired the first six he faced in the contest, but ran into trouble in the third when he started the frame with three straight walks. After getting the first out, Martinez surrendered a sacrifice fly to Michael Cuddyer to give the Rockies (8-5, 31-20) the 1-0 lead.

For the third straight game, Great Falls (5-9, 28-24) struggled to get much going at the plate. Rockies starter Harrison Musgrave (2-2) blanked the Voyagers over six innings, allowing just three hits and tying his career-high with eight strikeouts.

When Musgrave left, the bullpen duo of Anthony Bryant and Alec Crawford picked up right where the southpaw left off. The two combined to retire the Voyagers in order over the final three innings, with Crawford collecting his league-leading eighth save of the year to give Grand Junction their first shutout of 2014.

Grand Junction added an insurance run on the Voyager bullpen in the eighth, with Cuddyer again delivering the run for the visitors. After he was hit by a pitch, Wilson Soriano stole a base, then came into score when the defending National League batting champ singled up the middle.

The Voyagers were held to a season-low three hits on the night, and have now scored just four runs over their last three games since scoring a season-high 15 against Orem on Wednesday. Great Falls has now dropped three in a row at home for the first time since they lost four straight to Missoula at Centene Stadium from June 27-30.

The Voyagers and Rockies wrap-up this three-game series Sunday afternoon at Centene Stadium. Great Falls will turn to right-hander Matt Ball (2-4, 6.97), while Grand Junction will counter with a righty of their own, Carlos Polanco (5-4, 5.65). First pitch is set for 1:00 and coverage will begin at 12:45 on 1400 AM KXGF and gfvoyagers.com.
