GREAT FALLS, Mont. (August 10, 2014) - The Great Falls Voyagers had their losing streak extended to four as the Grand Junction Rockies completed a series sweep with a 9-4 win Sunday afternoon at Centene Stadium.

After erasing an early 2-0 deficit with a pair in the second, Grand Junction (9-5, 32-20) took their first lead of the afternoon in the third as Hamlet Marte homered off Voyager starter Matt Ball (2-5).

Michael Cuddyer continued his big series in the fourth, plating two more with a double. The two-time All-Star ended up with four hits on the day, and drove in three. Overall in the series, Cuddyer went 6-for-12 with six RBIs.

Trailing 7-2 in the sixth, Great Falls (5-9, 28-25) pulled two back to close the gap. Jackson Laumann hit a sacrifice fly to bring the first run of the frame home, and Tyler Shryock then followed with one of his three singles to collect his fifth RBI of the campaign.

With the spread still three going into the eighth, Great Falls had a big opportunity to try and work their way closer. The first three all reached in the frame to load the bases. However, Rockies reliever Yoely Bello retired the next three in order to leave the bases full of Voyagers.

For the first time in the series, the Voyagers plated the first runs of the contest, as they scored two against starter Carlos Polanco in the first. Shryock and Ethan Gross reached to start the game, then with both in scoring position, catcher Hamlet Marte made a throwing error that allowed both of them to scamper home.

After an off day on Monday, the Voyagers will head out on the road for a seven-game road trip, starting in Orem on Tuesday night as they open up a three-game set with the Owlz. In the series opener, Great Falls will send righty Dane Stone (4-1, 3.27) to the hill, while Orem has not yet named their starter. First pitch is set for 7:05 and coverage will begin at 6:50 on 1400 AM KXGF and gfvoyagers.com.
