Northern's Mark Samson Placed on Paid Administrative Leave

Posted: Updated:
HAVRE - MSU-Northern's head football coach Mark Samson has been placed on paid administrative leave.

Northern spokesman Jim Potter tells KFBB that it pertains to a personnel matter and that the University hopes to make a decision on Samson's future with the school as soon as possible. Potter would not go into any more detail about the situation.

The Lights football team has already started fall practice in preparation of their season opener on August 30th at Montana Tech. Potter would not comment on who was running the team in Samson's absence.

A source tells KFBB that MSU-Northern will not be holding any practices until the situation with Samson is resolved. However, Jim Potter says the assistant coaches will be running practices while Samson is on leave. The players are in support of Samson.

KFBB will continue to monitor this situation as it develops.
