Lady Argos Split in Day 2 of Tournament

The University of Great Falls volleyball team split its two matches Friday at the Sports Travel Northwest Invitational.

The Lady Argos opened with a 25-15, 20-25, 25-18, 25-16 loss to No. 23 Eastern Oregon. Madison Wilhelm had 19 kills, Alyssa McEwan added 10, while Jacey Habets had 14 digs and Dani Norling had 32 assists.

“They looked like a veteran team that was already firing on all cylinders,” UGF coach Arunas Duda said of EOU.

UGF bounced back with a 25-10, 25-22, 25-8 victory over Walla Walla (Wash.) University. McEwan had 11 kills while Wilhelm chipped in eight. Norling had 27 assists.

The event concludes Saturday. The Lady Argos face Evergreen (Wash.) State at 10 a.m. and North Idaho College at 2 p.m.
