Lady Argos wrap up Washington trip with a win

The University of Great Falls volleyball team completed play at the Sports Travel Northwest Invitational with a 25-17, 25-18, 25-27, 25-11 victory over Evergreen (Wash.) State College Saturday.

The Lady Argos finished the season-opening tournament with a 4-1 record – their only loss coming to No. 23 Eastern Oregon on Friday.

“It was definitely a good start and a step in the right direction,” UGF coach Arunas Duda said. “I'm proud of our girls' efforts and pleased with the weekend overall.”

Gabby Bienkowski led the Argos with 15 kills. Madison Wilhelm added 14, while Alyssa McEwan contributed 10. Dani Norling lofted 52 assists, and Jacey Habets recorded 25 digs.

The Argos return to action next week at the Concordia Asics/Wyndham Labor Day Classic in Irvine, Calif.
