Fatal Car Accident Near Belt

GREAT FALLS - An early morning car accident has taken the life of at one individual just outside of Great Falls.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the accident took place shortly after 6:20am on Lewis and Armington Road near Belt.

MHP says that one fatality occurred. The car was traveling eastbound on Armington Road when it reportedly struck a power pole. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene.

MHP says alcohol was a factor, but are not sure whether speed had a role. The accident is still under investigation.
