 By the Vancouver Canadians

(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - In a play that could have jumped off the pages of a Hollywood script, Canadians LF Jon Davis broke from third base and stole home plate in the bottom of the 6th inning, snapping a 3-3 tie helping Vancouver to a 5-3 victory that sends the C's to the post-season for an unprecedented fifth consecutive season.

Vancouver trailed twice on Sunday as the Indians took advantage of six walks from Canadians pitching yet couldn't put the C's away taking a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the 6th inning.

Indians manager Tim Hulett dipped into his bullpen in the bottom of the 6th inning with two outs and just SS Franklin Barreto on at first base. Reliever RHP Erik Swanson would come in and a walk and two base hits to put the Canadians offense into a position of strength - which was also accompanied by a trio of stolen bases driven by Davis stealing home to tie the game giving Vancouver a 4-3 lead. Seconds later C Mike Reeves would slam a single to left field scoring 2B Richard Urena extending the difference to 5-3.

From there, the Canadians bullpen slammed the door on Spokane going three scoreless innings with RHP Andrew Case going two scoreless followed by RHP Phil Kish who pitched a three-up, three-down top of the 9th inning for the division clinching victory.

With the win, Vancouver captures the Northwest League North Division pennant, securing a best-of-three playoff date with the Spokane Indians that starts on Tuesday, September 2nd at 7:05pm out at Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium.
