GREAT FALLS, Mont. (September 6, 2014) - The Great Falls Voyagers saw their 2014 campaign come to an end as the Billings Mustangs finished off a sweep with a 4-3 win at Centene Stadium Saturday night.

Trailing 4-3 late, Great Falls had a pair of chances to tie it up or take the lead. In the eighth, the Voyagers put two runners aboard, but ran into the final out of the frame on the base paths to end the threat.

In the ninth, the Voyagers got a lead-off single from Zach Fisher, then sacrificed him into scoring position. After a Brennan Bernardino strikeout, Zach Fish drew a walk to put two on. Bernardino buckled down after the walk, collecting another strikeout to end the game and clinch a berth in the Pioneer League Championship Series for the Mustangs.

After the two teams traded runs in the first two innings, Billings grabbed the lead for the first time in the third. Taylor Sparks singled, stole second, and then after a single by Kevin Franklin moved him to third, scampered home on a wild pitch.

The second inning tally started a string of four straight innings in which Billings scored, as Argenis Aldazoro singled in a run in the third, and Jimmy Pickens led off the fourth with an opposite field homer against Kelvis Valerio (0-1). In the fifth, the Mustangs added their final run of the night as Ty Washington scored on a wild pitch.

Great Falls struggled to get much against Billings starter Tyler Mahle (1-0) until the sixth. After Hunter Jones doubled, Tyler Shryock brought him in to cut the lead to two before a Mason Robbins triple chased the righty from the game. Robbins scored later in the inning on a wild pitch to close the gap to 4-3.

For the second straight game the Voyagers opened the scoring in the first inning, and it was again Fisher driving in the contest's first tally. Fisher singled with two outs, bringing in Hunter Jones who had started the inning with a walk.

The Voyagers end the 2014 campaign having made the playoffs for the eighth consecutive season, the longest current streak in the Pioneer League and will look to make it nine straight when the 2015 edition of the Voyagers takes the field in June of 2015.
