Cats' Prukop Gets Player of the Week

Montana State quarterback Dakota Prukop became the school's first Big Sky Football Player of the Week on Monday, when the sophomore was honored by the league.

The Bobcat sophomore compiled 379 yards of total offense in leading MSU to a 43-33 win over Central Arkansas on Saturday. Prukop threw for 289 yards on 19-for-27 passing, and rushed for 90 more. He scored twice on the ground. The performance, in his third career start, boosted Prukop up to fifth in the nation in total offense, second in the Big Sky.

Prukop got the Bobcats' day off to a good start, matriculating MSU 79 yards down the field on the game's first possession. The drive covered six minutes, 49 seconds, and Prukop scored on a three-yard plunge on fourth-and-one from the three-yard line. He was three-for-four passing on the drive.

The Austin, Tex., product was also named league and national player of the week by College Sports Madness on Monday. He and the Cats host No. 2 Eastern Washington on Saturday.
