Saints Look to End Road Woes Against Rocky

Posted: Updated:

Going back to 2011, including this years opening loss at Southern Oregon, the Saints have lost seven games on the road. Compare that to the lone home loss in the same time span. Last season during their trip to Rocky they were able to pull out a 24-17 victory, which was the last time the Bears lost a home game! Between the Saints road woes and the Bears ability to defend the home turf, coach Van Diest has some decisions to make about his road games.

"Well it's been tougher for us and I don't know why," said Van Diest. "We've sat down as coaches and scratched our heads. We've tried to look for different solutions. There was a time when we did very well on the road because you don't have as many distractions. You don't have people calling you for tickets. You don't have people from out of town the night before wanting to visit with you the night before a game. But we've got to look at our coaches and our set up. How do we travel on Friday? Do we give them enough time to catch their breathe? Do we rush too much? But when you wake up Saturday it's game day, it doesn't make any difference."
