It's giving week all around! The "State Employee Charitable Giving Campaign” (SECGC) kicked off the week with 100 nonprofit organizations gathered in the capitol rotunda so employees can learn more about each organizations cause.
This is the only state sponsored charitable fundraising campaign where employees can pledge to any of the 450 state wide organizations. The goal is to raise half a million dollars for the upcoming year.
State employees are not the only ones making a pledge this week, “while its also the kickoff for the state charitable giving campaign, workplaces across Helena are also hosting united way campaigns, to raise local dollars to find local solutions here in the Helena community and the tri-county community including: Broadwater and Jefferson county as well” added United Way Marketing Specialist, Katie Gallagher.
Helena city mayor, Jim Smith is proclaiming this week as the official united way week at the city commission meeting.
The money given to united way is divided through the 31 nonprofit organizations in the tri-county- Broadwater, Lewis and Clark and Jefferson county.
