VA Fire Safety Open House

Posted: Updated:

The VA Fire Station had an Open House for all Veterans, employees and their families.  The Open House was held as part of Fire Safety Week, and in this station adults and kids got to learn what to do in an emergency situation.

Funds were raised by the employees themselves, nearly two-thousand dollars worth of toys were bought so that kids would be extra motivated to do the interactive stations that the fire house provided.  Once they completed them all, they got to choose one of many prices available for them.  Kids also got to try on fireman gear and try out a smoke simulator to learn the not-so-second nature stop, drop and roll.
