MSU-Northern Falls to College of Idaho

Posted: Updated:
Ryan Texeira scored a three-yard touchdown run with 43 seconds remaining to give the College of Idaho the lead, then got a goal line stop by Josh Lopez on the final play of the game, as the Coyotes toppled Montana State-Northern, 35-31, before 5,356 fans at Simplot Stadium.

The Lights (1-5, 0-5 Frontier) rallied from a 28-0 halftime deficit to take a 31-28 lead with just over five minutes remaining on a 15-yard Sam McKinley touchdown run.  But the Yotes marched 53 yards in 12 plays, getting a key fourth down reception by Marcus Lenhardt to set up the go-ahead run by Texeira, who rushed for 151 yards and two scores.

Northern took over inside C of I territory and got a big 32-yard pass from Travis Dean to McKinley down to the six-yard line.  With four seconds left, Dean found Nick Luoma at the one-yard line, but Josh Lopez stood up the receiver outside the end zone to end the game.
