Montana Veterans Association Celebrates 9th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony

Posted: Updated:
GREAT FALLS -  The Montana Veterans Memorial Association held their 9th annual Veterans Day ceremony to honor our service men and women here in Great Falls.

The ceremony included a presentation of colors and a Blue Star Memorial highway marker located near the Veterans Memorial site at Centene Stadium. Retired Lieutenant, Richard Leibert, talks about the importance of honoring our Veterans.

"Because we don't have a draft anymore its a volunteer Military and fewer people have members in their family that are surviving we need to support the VA and we need to remember what's going on because not everyone has a family member in the service anymore." Leibert said.          The ceremony also featured guest speaker, Captain Ken Robinson, who spoke about his experience during the Vietnam and Cold war. There was also a presentation with mayor winters where he received a plaque to be added near the veterans memorial wall in honor of our deceased veterans.
